Hello Everyone!!
From what I hear from other Peace Corps Volunteers (PCV), keeping a log of what's going on in one spot like this and it's the best way to go to let everybody know what I'm up to. So, I conformed and here it is! I'm gonna try to use this as a source of telling stories and about my upcoming African adventures. I'm hoping to have Internet access more often than not, but we'll have to wait and see still, seeing as how I still don't even know where I'm going to be living. I leave Seattle at 8:15am on April 16Th for Arlington, VA (Washington DC) for a two day orientation/staging and then on to Johannesburg, SA on April 18Th for the night, and then a 6 hour bus ride to Botswana where then I'll start my 8 week Pre-Service Training (PST) while living with a host family...and then 2 years working!!!
I'm so excited to go and yet insanely nervous about being gone so long and away from all the people I know and love, but I feel like this is the right thing to do ( I have know idea why)...so I'm on my way. However, I will say that the "goodbye" process is pretty much my least favorite process ever and I'm taking the longest showers possible to enjoy the whole "running water" aspect of life that I soon have to give up, for a very long time! :( Oh well...
I'm hoping that this will be a good way to kinda of keep in contact bit, but like I said it all depends on how much I have internet and/or even have electricty (fingers crosses). Just as a heads up for anyone that reads this...I usually write the way I talk. Meaning, that when I rant in person, talk really fast, use imperfect grammar, say really odd things and stories will probably be out of order (I've noticed that I'm really good at starting stories and then half way through thinking of something else completely random and then go on with that "new" story)...so, more then likely my little posts will be the same. haha :) BUT just remember that it me and I think you'll all get the point.

Embrace the detours..."
Great idea, ER! Those of us left behind will be waiting for every posting. Congratulations on catching your dream and making it happen. Not everyone can make that claim. Good luck - and keep writing.
